TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — For the 56th time since 1951, the Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes will square off on the football field. This time around, Miami comes to Tallahassee as a team that has won its last two ballgames in the house that Bobby Bowden bulit.

After an offseason of turmoil, the Hurricanes have had an up and down season but seem to be better overall than many pundits thought they would be heading into the 2011 campaign. The offseason scandal aside, Miami has weathered the in-season storm associated with various player suspensions and the challenges that are always present whenever a new coach takes over.

Perhaps most importantly for Al Golden’s program, quarterback Jacory Harris is having his finest season as a senior. Harris travels to Tallahassee boasting the nation’s sixth-best pass-efficiency rating. Harris’ efforts are bolstered by superstar tailback Lamar Miller, who has the skills to play in the NFL.

As usual, the ‘Canes’ defense boasts speedy playmakers across the board but this season lacks great depth on that side of the ball.

Wednesday night, the Hurricanes’ defense took a hit when it was announced that standout safety Ray Ray Armstrong will not make the trip to Tallahassee.
