TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Nigel Dixon of Orlando, Florida has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Florida State University.
Dixon, a 6-10 post player, averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds per game last season at Edgewater High School. He earned class 6A second team all-state honors as a senior and helped his team to the state championship game as a junior. Dixon led Edgewater to a 52-12 record over his final two prep seasons.
“We are excited about Nigel joining our basketball family,” Florida State head coach Steve Robinson said. “He is a young man that really wanted to be a Seminole and will be proud to represent Florida State University. He has tremendous upside potential to be a force in the paint. It will be our job as coaches to help him reach that potential. He comes from an outstanding high school program and his coach, Travis Jones, did a great job teaching him the fundamentals of the game.”
Dixon selected the Seminoles after also considering Penn State and Kansas State.
