Paint The Stadium Garnet Saturday!

Oct. 16, 2007

Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden and the Seminole Student Boosters would like all Seminole fans, the greatest fans in the nation, to help paint Doak Campbell Stadium garnet by asking everyone to wear their garnet TRUE Pride tees when the Seminoles host the Miami Hurricanes, Saturday, October 20th at 3:30 p.m.

“I want to encourage everybody to support Seminole Student Boosters which put out these wonderful garnet t-shirts for us to wear at the ball games,” Coach Bowden said.  “I wish everybody would get a garnet shirt and wear it to our games.  Everywhere we go play … we play at Clemson, it’s all orange.  We play up at Wake Forest, it’s all black.  We need it to be completely garnet here at Florida State.”

Seminole Student Boosters have been thrilled with the community’s response to the TRUE Seminole Campaign as close to $100,000 has been raised through the purchase of the t-shirts.  Shirts are still available for purchase throughout the football regular season at Garnet & Gold, Bill’s, FSU Bookstore and Seminole Sportshop.

“Get there early Saturday and let’s show the opponents that we’re all together here as a team,” Coach Bowden said.  “We’ve got Miami coming up this weekend and you know what a big game that is and we need your help!  So support us in this way.”

Portions from every shirt sold will be donated back to Seminole Boosters, Inc.  In turn, monies will be donated to a SGA financial aide account to help benefit need-based students.  The other monies will be place into an endowment fund for student athletic scholarships.

The TRUE Seminole Campaign is a student initiated movement to unite the Seminole Community and harness what is best about FSU:  our Unconquered spirit and our one sense of core values.  The concept for the inaugural t-shirt design came from the whole idea that we are a “Seminole Community” and as a single person, we each are Seminoles, but together WE ARE FLORIDA STATE!

The Burning Spear Drum Tour will be out this weekend beginning Friday, October 19th at 3:30 p.m. in front of Gate K of Doak Campbell Stadium and will beat continuously until kickoff on Saturday.
