Pardon/Brown Garner CCSA Pair of the Week Accolades

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – For the second time this season, Florida State’s top duo of Julie Brown and Jace Pardon were honored with the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week honor, announced by the league office on Tuesday. The No. 1 duo went a perfect 4-0 at the Fiesta on Siesta tournament winning all four matches in straight-sets and guiding the Seminoles to a 4-0 team mark.

Brown and Pardon began the weekend with a 21-15, 21-15 win over Louisiana-Monroe. In their next match, the duo provided the clinching point against No. 17 North Florida after the Ospreys had tied the match at 2-2. Brown and Pardon defeated Jessalyn Kinlaw and Megan Shaw in a tightly contested match 21-19, 21-18 to secure FSU’s victory.

On Sunday, the pair defeated fellow CCSA competitors Gabrielle Dischler and Delaney Clesen from FAU in straight-sets to improve to 3-0 on the weekend. They closed out the Fiesta on Siesta with a convincing win over UNCW. The pair improved its personal records to 17-3, all coming at the No.1 court, while helping Florida State improve to 20-1 on the season.

The Seminoles will host the FSU Beach Tournament this upcoming weekend in their final tune-up before the CCSA Beach Volleyball Championships take place in Emerson, Ga. on April 22-24. FSU is scheduled to face three fellow CCSA foes in UAB, No. 9 Georgia State and Tulane, while wrapping up the regular season with a match against College of Charleston.
