Tallahassee, FL – What do Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Priest Holmes, Kevin Garnet, Latrell Sprewell, Dan Morgan, Eric Crouch and Seminole softball player Jessica van der Linden all have in common? After yesterday they have all either been photographed or made up by Sport’s Illustrated’s photo team. Led by renowned SI photographer Jeffery Salter, Sports Illustrated On Campus whisked in to Tallahassee yesterday to shoot FSU’s All-American for the February 13th cover of SIOC.
The cover will feature van der Linden as cupid and will be used on the magazine’s Valentine’s Day issue. The Seminole pitcher and her fiance, Seminole football star Michael Boulware, will be a featured couple in SIOC’s Valentine’s issue.
“That was so much fun but hard work too,” said van der Linden. “Now I know why models get paid so much. This was a great opportunity and I am thankful that Sports Illustrated asked me to do this and all the trouble they went through to make this happen.”
The couple, van der Linden and Boulware, will be married this summer. Before then van der Linden will play her final season with the 19th-ranked Seminole softball team, which opens play this Friday at 4:00 p.m. versus Minnesota at the Seminole Softball Complex. Boulware will continue to ready himself for the upcoming NFL Draft where he is projected to be a top pick.
Salter, based in Miami, has shot covers for Sports Illustrated in the past and his most recent cover work for SI was the 2003-2004 College Basketball Preview featuring Emeka Okafor and Diana Taurasi.
