Pierce, Mylin Set for National Championships

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  –  Rising Florida State senior swimmers Natalie Pierce and Chad Mylin are set to compete at the Phillips 66 National Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. from June 27-July 2 at the IUPUI Natatorium. The meet will also serve as the selection for the USA National Teams competing at the 2017 FINA World Championships and 2017 World University Games.

Pierce is scheduled to swim the 200 breast on Wednesday, followed by the 50 breast on Thursday before closing out the meet with the 100 breast on Friday.  The Bloomfield Hills, Mich. native is seeded within the top 30 in the 50 and 100 distances and is expected to make a push for the finals in both races after her fourth place showing in the 100 breast at the NCAA Championships where she set a new FSU record at 58.25.

Mylin will swim the 50 free on Saturday, seeded 36th.

“Natalie and Chad are looking forward to competing with the best in the nation,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “They both look ready to swim fast and we’re all excited to see what they can do.”

Prelims will start at 9 a.m. with the top 16 swimmers advancing finals following at 6 p.m. Prelims will be streamed live through usaswimming.org or the NBS Sports app.

On the television side, 2017 Phillips 66 Nationals will feature 12 hours of broadcast coverage from NBC Sports Group, including four hours of nationally televised coverage on NBC on July 1-2. A complete schedule is as follows:
