TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – For the fourth time this season the Seminoles took home an ACC Honor, this time it was Co-Player of the Week. After a 2-0 weekend as a team and a 1-0 weekend in both singles and doubles, Florida State’s redshirt senior No. 53 Lucas Poullain earned ACC Co-Player of the Week.
“I am really happy for Lucas to win the award this week,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “He has been very deserving many times this season. He has had a great year so far. He clinched the victory against Florida this year and last year he led the team in victories. Lucas is also an outstanding individual and a co-captain on our team.”
Poullain competed in two singles matches but was not able to finish the first one. He outscored his opponents 24-10. He was leading Alexis Guedy of New Orleans 6-1, 6-5 on court one but was not able to finish and he took down Chase Burton of Liberty in his second singles match of the weekend 6-3, 6-1 on court two. Poullain also went 1-0 in doubles with partner Aziz Dougaz. The Duo defeated Liberty’s Diego Castano and Alex Poynter 6-2 on court one.
The Seminoles take on Clemson on Friday, March 2nd in Athens, Ga. at the University of Georgia Tennis facility.
