TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Super Bowl may be in the books — and with it the official end to football season — but there is a light at the end of the no-more-tackling tunnel.
And it will be here March 19 — the first day of the Florida State football program’s four-week spring practice period.
Five days after the annual on-campus Pro Day on March 14 where former ‘Noles try out in front of visiting NFL personnel, FSU will kick off a string of practices that then concludes with the Garnet & Gold Spring Game on April 16.
FSU’s yearly scrimmage is part of a fun few days in Tallahassee. Fans that come out to support the Seminoles and watch the 4 p.m. game will have the opportunity to be part of what has become a weekend that never disappoints.
“Every year we strive to outdo ourselves from the season before,” FSU Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing Jason Dennard said. “This year will be no different. We have been planning and preparing for the 2012 spring game for quite some time and we expect it to be a great success once again.”
Starting with the March 19 practice opener, Florida State coaches and players will take part in the four-week process that features four practices per week leading up to that annual intra-squad game.
Seminoles.com will have complete coverage of FSU’s spring practices with video, written analysis, position-by-position breakdowns, podcasts, head coach Jimbo Fisher and player quotes and much more so stay tuned.
