FSU Women’s Basketball Holds First Practice Friday
Coming off the program’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, the Florida State womens’ basketball team kicks off the 2007-08 season this Friday. The Seminoles will hold their first practice from 7-8:30 p.m. This year the Seminoles will start their 11th campaign under head coach Sue Semrau.
Seminoles Garner Preseason National Attention
The first wave of preseason rankings are out and the Sweet 16 run has garnered plenty of attention for the Seminoles. Florida State finds itself ranked in all the basketball preseason magazine’s Top 25. The highest ranking comes from Lindy’s, which puts FSU in at No. 16. Athlon Magazine and Women’s Basketball Magazine each rate Florida State at No. 22. The Seminoles finished 2006-07 campaign ranked No. 19 in the USA Today/Coaches’ Poll.
FSU Holds Annual Garage Sale For Pierce Family
This Saturday, the women’s basketball team will hold their annual garage sale to benefit the family of former player Ronalda Pierce. An up-and-coming player, Pierce died suddenly in June of 2004. All proceeds from the garage sale go directly to the Pierce family. The garage sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday at 3905 Royal Oaks Court in Tallahassee.
