Pressley Earns National Honor

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State University junior defender Toni Pressley, who kicked the game winning goal against USF in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, has been named to the national team of the week.

Pressley (Melbourne, Fla./West Short) has scored three game winners in 2010 and has helped lead the Seminoles as the top ranked defense in the ACC allowing only 15 goals all season.

In addition, the Seminoles (15-5-1) moved up to No. 6 in the national rankings as sponsored by TopDrawerSoccer – up from their previous No. 10 ranking last week.

The Seminoles’ are currently playing in their 11th consecutive NCAA Tournament and have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the sixth straight year after they defeated Middle Tennessee and USF in the first two rounds. Florida State now plays host to Marquette in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, November 20th at 1:00pm.
