TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Toni Pressley ended the 2010 season as a Soccer America first team MVP honoree. She will open the 2011 season right where she left off as the Melbourne, Fla., native was named to Soccer America’s preseason All-America team.
Pressley started all 22 games for the Seminoles in 2010 finishing the year with 10 points on four goals and two assists, while tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals. She helped lead the Seminoles to the top-ranked defense in the ACC during the regular season allowing a league-low five goals against conference foes and 14 total goals during the regular season. Pressley played a key role on the Seminole defensive unit that posted an ACC-best 13 shutouts including a league high six shutouts in ACC play.
The senior defender was also the highest Seminole ranked in TopDrawerSoccer.com’s top 100 upperclassmen which ranks the highest college soccer sophomores, juniors and seniors in the nation. Pressley was ranked No. 15 and was one of five Seminoles listed in the poll. Casey Short ranked No. 18, followed by Tori Huster (No. 20), Ines Jaurena (No. 46) and Kassey Kallman (No. 58).
The Seminoles will open the 2011 campaign on Friday, August 19 at Oregon State.
