TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team heads to the University Georgia on Thursday to compete in the 2017 ITA Southeast Regional presented by Oracle. The Noles will be one of 17 teams competing in a field that includes six teams that finished 2017 ranked in the Top-50. The Garnet and Gold will be competing alongside Georgia Tech, Florida, USF, UCF, Georgia State, UNF, FAU, Miami, Kennesaw State, Savannah State, Georgia Southern, FGCU, FAMU, Stetson, Mercer and host school Georgia.
Seminoles Gabby Goldin and Lucie Prochazkova will begin play in qualifying competition on Thursday, with the other four Noles beginning in the main draw on Friday.
Play will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday with two rounds of qualifying singles and one round of doubles. Eight singles players in qualifying and three doubles teams advance to the main draw on Friday. Play will continue until the championship matches that take place on Monday.
The two regional finalists will earn an automatic bid into the Oracle/ITA National Fall Championships in Indian Wells, Calif. on Nov. 1-5.
