Purcell Wins Javelin at FAMU Relays
Junior Kate Purcell takes first place in the javelin while group of pole vaulters take second at the cross-town rival meet.

Tallahassee, Fla.
– A few members of the Florida State track and field team spent the end of their spring break competing at the FAMU Relays at Florida A&M in Tallahassee, Fla.

Junior Kate Purcell (West Point, Pa./Southern Illinois-Edwardsville) won the javelin throw with a mark of 40.47m.

Freshman Leilania Caraballo (Miami, Fla./Lourdes Academy) and sophomore Kristin Janson (Sarasota, Fla./Cardinal Mooney) took second place in the pole vault with a height of 2.89m.

Sophomore Matt Hurley (Tallahassee, Fla./Chiles) was the men’s pole vault runner-up, recording a height of 4.57m.
