Quinney In Top 20 At Lady Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
Seminole senior Katie Quinney is in a tie for 20th place and the Florida State women’s golf team is in a tie for 12th place after two rounds of play at the Lady Gator Invitational at the University of Florida Golf Course. Quinney has a 36-hole total of 156 and is just 11 strokes off the lead while the Seminoles are well within reach of earning a top-10 finish in their first tournament of the spring season.


Duke held on to the top spot with a two-round score of 588 (292-296). Ohio State (299-309) fell next in line at 608, followed by Michigan State at 616 (299-317), Florida at 617 and Tennessee at 620 (301-319).


Quinney (Atlantic Beach, Fla.), who carded a 73 in the first round, finished the second round with a total of 83. She is looking to gain the fifth top-20 finish during her career at Florida State.


Senior Alison Curdt (St. Louis, Mo.) led the Seminoles during the second round and enters the third round with a two-round total of 157.


The third and final round Tuesday will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
