TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Florida State All-American James Ramsey continued his impressive showing during the Cape Cod Summer League as the junior from Alpharetta, Ga., was named MVP of the East team at the 2011 Cape Cod All-Star game.
Ramsey went 1-for-3 in the game with a solo home run and a walk as he led the East to a 4-1 victory over the West Friday night in a game played inside Fenway Park. Ramsey batted in the leadoff spot and started in centerfield for the East playing all nine innings. He delivered the only home run in the game connecting on a solo shot with one out in the fifth. Ramsey deposited the round tripper into the bullpen in right centerfield. He later drew a walk in the eighth in his final at-bat of the game.
In 29 games this summer with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, Ramsey leads the team in hitting with a .327 average (33-for-101). He is also pacing the team in home runs (6), triples (3), runs scored (28) and walks (26), while sharing the team lead with 33 hits. Yarmouth-Dennis currently sits in fourth place in the East Division just five points out of first place with four games remaining in the regular season.
