Director of Sports Medicine

Sport Responsibility:

Mr. Oravetz is prideful on building tradition as he is in his 26th year at Florida State University. He completed his undergraduate degree and then worked up to graduate assistant, assistant, and then finally assumed the director of sports medicine position. His time investment here at FSU has paid off considering the success of both the athletic and student athletic training programs.

Mr. Oravetz supervises a staff of 10 assistant athletic trainers, 5 graduate assistants, and 42 curriculum athletic training students. He also oversees medical care given to the athletes of 18 different varsity sports and performs various administrative duties. During the summer, Oravetz takes time to give back to the high schools by offering an annual student athletic training camp.

Mr. Oravetz, native of Tampa, is married to his wife Linda, and has two sons, Jonathan and Thomas.
