TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Bob Minnix, Associate Director of Athletics
for Compliance and Legal Affairs, released the following statement through
the school sports information office on Friday.

“After thorough review of the use of an airline ticket to Houston
this summer, Florida State University will permit Laveranues Coles to
participate in the football game against Georgia Tech. The NCAA has been
kept abreast throughout this review and concurs with this decision.”

Coles is a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., who starts in the slot
receiver position when the Seminoles are in a three-wide offensive set. He
was suspended for the season-opener against Louisiana Tech.
