Fans have three chances to catch Florida State volleyball’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Georgia Tech. Turner South will first show the match on Thursday (October 12) at 8 p.m. and then at 12 a.m. Friday (October 13) with a third showing at 11 a.m. on Friday. Turner South is channel 631 on DirecTV and channel 437 on Dish Network.
After winning the first two games of the match, Florida State let the Yellow Jackets back in the contest before winning the decisive game five, 15-9. Down 7-4, the Seminoles closed the match with an 11-2 run as they won back-to-back contests in Atlanta for the first time in school history. Junior outside hitter Makini Thompson (Quincy, Mass.) led the way with 18 kills, while setter Zrinka Tomic (Nustar, Croatia) tied her career high with 57 assists.
Currently second in the ACC at 6-1, 12-4 overall, this year’s team has reached six wins in the ACC faster than any squad in team history. Florida State will try to hold on to the number two spot this weekend when it travels to Virginia Tech (Friday) and Virginia (Saturday). The Seminoles return home for a trio of matches next week, starting on Tuesday (October 17) at 7 p.m. against Miami.
