Russell joined the Seminole strength and conditioning staff in March of 2004 after spending the previous 11 years with the New York Yankees. He spent 7 seasons as a Player Development athletic trainer. In the fall of 1999, he was promoted to the Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning. He was responsible for all aspects of strength and conditioning for Player Development and assisted with major league rehabs.
Russell coordinates the training efforts for the Seminole Baseball team from the recently renovated Dick Howser weight room and oversees the Lady Seminole Volleyball team’s training regimen. Russell teaches the Methodology of Strength and Conditioning class.
Graduated from the University of South Carolina, December 1994. BS in Physical Education – Athletic Training. Russell completed his Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from Florida State in the summer of 2006.
Russell is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA since 1996. A licensed Athletic Trainer through the NATA since 1995. A licensed Massage Therapist since 1997 and certified Level 1 Club Coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW) since 2004.
Married to Kelly since November 18, 1995. Two children: Riley (7) and Bryant (5).
