Dec. 12, 2006
Monday, December 4th, wrapped up the semester for the Student Athlete Advisory Council with their final meeting before the holiday break. The meeting kicked off with a short presentation given by members of the Student Government Association followed by updates on academics and community service projects. Student-athletes from each team then gave a brief summary on their respective teams for the fall semester along with the in-season accomplishments of their teammates. Following the meeting, SAAC members spent some time putting together “freshman final exam survival kits”.
Each year, the committee organizes this project to help the newest Seminoles through their first college semester of final exams. Each bag has a card with a couple of important tips from the SAAC members along with some essential additions such as snacks and stress-balls. Survival kits were distributed to the youngest members of Florida State Athletics by their academic advisors throughout finals week.
