WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – After breezing to a pair of victories to open the inaugural collegiate sand volleyball season, the Florida State Seminoles will wrap up their first week of competition at the Clash of the Collegians event this Thursday and Friday.
The two-day event is hosted at Aspire Higher Volleyball SuperCenter located at the Best Western Park View Hotel.
Other teams participating in the competition will be Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson and College of Charleston.
The Seminoles picked up 5-0 sweeps on the road over UAB, on Saturday, and Tulane, on Monday.
It’s part of head coach Danalee Corso’s plan to dominate the Southeast in the first year of collegiate sand volleyball.
“That’s the plan — to win all of our matches against the Southeast,” Corso said. “We really want to leave our mark in Florida and the surrounding states in this first year. We have played great in these first couple of matches. It’ll be nice to meet some new opponents these next few days.”
Following the Clash of the Collegians, the Seminoles will return to Tallahassee to host its first ever match on March 13 at the Seminole Sand Volleyball Complex against Tulane at 4 p.m.
