Feb. 25, 2006
Columbus, Ga. –
Continuous rain in Columbus, Ga., area on Saturday (Feb. 25) cancelled play at the 2006 NFCA Classic and forced tournament officials to restructure the tournament format for Sunday (Feb. 26). Florida State will play at either 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. with tournament officials determining the format at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Tournament officials are considering two different schedules for Sunday. Under the first format, each team would play two games: one against the team in its pool that it hasn’t played yet as well as a team from other pool. The other consideration is playing just one game against the remaining pool team.
Under the first format, Florida State would play Seton Hall at 12 p.m. then take on No. 22 Iowa – the final team from its pool – at 2 p.m. Using the one-game format, the Seminoles and the Hawkeyes would meet at 1 p.m. Regardless of when Florida State plays, the game(s) will be available on Gametracker and live on internet radio.
