Student-Athletes recognized for giving back.

On Tuesday, April 14th, at the Florida State vs. UF baseball game several student-athletes were recognized and honored for the time and dedication they contributed to giving back to the community. Each student-athlete recognized proudly completed 20 or more hours of community service. Over the course of the 2008-09 academic year, FSU student-athletes have given approximately 3,500 hours of community service to Tallahassee and the surrounding areas. Florida State student-athletes have volunteered graciously with organizations such as local elementary and middle schools, the Tallahassee Fitness Festival, Dick Howser, the Children’s Home Society, the Second Harvest Food Bank, Big Brother-Big Sister, the American Cancer Society, United Way, and the Special Olympics. The Office of Student Services strives to establish a commitment of service to others as a foundation for a balanced student-athlete lifestyle. These accomplishments are evidence of the commitment to service within the Florida State Athletics.

A special thanks goes out to these outstanding student-athletes who despite time constraints find the time to give back………
