On August 26th, the 2007 New Student Orientation was held at the Moore Athletic Center from 11-3. The goal of New Student-Athlete Orientation is to provide the incoming students with valuable information about life and programs available at FSU and also to introduce them to their fellow student-athletes that they will be at FSU with for the next 4 plus years. Orientation began with breakfast in the Varsity Club along with a signature scavenger hunt, where athletes have to get other athletes signatures when the statement applied to them.

An opening speech was given by Javier Garcia-Tunon, a member of the 2 time NCAA Track National Championship team and this year’s SAAC President. Once all SAAC Members and administrators were introduced, the new athletes divided into their 5 respective groups, Gold, Silver, Green, Red, and Blue. The groups then traveled to 5 different stations including, Student Life, Academics, Sports Medicine and Nutrition, Technology and Computer Lab, and Compliance and FSUCard Services. After the completion of all stations, the athletes reconvened in the Moore Auditorium for the conclusion and a dancing competition! Immediately following the conclusion, all athletes traveled down the hall to our Memorabilia Room for Pizza and PowerAde.
