Second-ranked Football Continues Drills

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The No. 2 Florida State Seminoles held workouts
indoors this afternoon due to inclement weather. The squad underwent 60
minutes of activity including mat drills and weightlifting following
meetings and an extended film viewing session.



Leading tacklers from Monday’s 23-14 victory over Texas A&M include Jerry
Johnson (10), Lamont Green (9), Demetro Stephens (9), Corey Simon (7),
Tommy Polley (7) and Derrick Gibson (7). Johnson, Green and Tony Bryant
were credited with one sack each. Stephens and Johnson each caused fumbles
with Troy Saunders and Polley recovering. Sophomore tailback Travis Minor
earned “Dominator of the Week” honors for his 146 yards on an FSU record 34
carries.



Injuries from Monday’s game: Larry Smith – upper right ankle ligament
damage; Brian Allen – left ankle sprain; Peter Warrick – right forefoot
sprain; Smith and Warrick underwent x-rays and results were negative. All
three will be held from practice this week.



If weather permits, practice will resume its regular schedule tomorrow
afternoon.
