TALLAHASSEE, Fla.– Florida State’s No. 1 women’s tennis player Alida Gallovits teamed with her sister Edina Gallovits Wednesday, January 10th to play in doubles competition at the USTA Women’s Satellite Tournament being played at Florida State’s Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Edina Gallvoits is currently ranked No. 7 in the world for the 18 and under division. The tandem faced and defeated Caroline Tidemand of Norway and Yuki Arai of Japan in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (3). The two will now advance to the quarterfinals round of doubles competition Thursday, January 11th.
Tournament play will continue throughout the week at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center with the finals being held on Sunday, January 14th.
