Seminole All-Conference Showdown Preview

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team is set to host the inaugural Seminole All-Conference Showdown this weekend Nov. 4-6 at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Schools from the SEC, ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, and American conferences will travel to Tallahassee for the three-day event. Oklahoma (Big 12), Alabama (SEC), Wisconsin (Big Ten), Clemson (ACC), UCF and USF (American) will take on the Seminoles in a tournament representing five premier athletics conferences from around the nation.

 

Play will begin on Friday at 9:00 a.m. with two rounds of doubles play. For Florida State, senior Daniela Schippers and sophomore Ariana Rahmanparast will take on Oklahoma’s Simran Sethi and Malene Stripp in the opening round, while freshmen Nandini Das and Andrea Garcia will face Sydney Rider and Kelsey Grambeau of Wisconsin.

Following doubles play, one round of singles will begin.

Schippers will take on Wisconsin’s Michelle Linden, while sophomore Julia Mikulski will battle Maria Avgerinos, also a Badger. Garcia will face Grambeau, and Das will face Julie Bryne of Oklahoma.

Play will continue on Saturday with one round each of singles and doubles, with a final round of singles on Sunday. Play will begin at 9:00 a.m. each morning.
