TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – As the 2016 Florida State baseball season draws near Seminole fans will have their first chance to meet the members of the team on Saturday, February 13 at Fan Day, presented by Whataburger, on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.
Fan Day festivities will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Haggard Plaza with a team autograph session. Players and coaches will greet fans and sign autographs until 12:30 p.m. This year’s team poster and schedule cards will be available for fans to pick-up at that time.
Along with the team poster, fans will be restricted to one additional baseball item that can be signed by the team. The item must be baseball related. All non-baseball related items will not be signed.
After the autograph session, fans are encouraged to stick around for a team scrimmage which is scheduled to begin at around 2:00 p.m., following a brief warm-up session which will include groundballs. Concessions will be open during both the autograph signing and scrimmage game.
The 2016 season begins on Friday, Feb. 19 when the Seminoles host Rhode Island for the first of a three-game set that is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
The Seminoles have drawn top 25 rankings in the (14th) National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, Collegiate Baseball (16th), Baseball America (17th), D1Baseball.com (20th) and Perfect Game (20th) polls.
