TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Florida State men’s basketball player Ralph Mims is the first featured guest of the 2007-08 season on Seminole All-Access on seminoles.com beginning October 15. Mims is highlighted on the first of many podcasts this season as he talks about the first weekend of practice, the upcoming season for the Seminoles and his goals as he enters his senior season.
Mims exhibited his outstanding value to the Seminoles with seven starting assignments at the point guard position during the 2006-07 season and has displayed his abilities in both backcourt positions to be a guard of significance in the Seminoles’ rotation during his senior season. His versatility allows him to play both the lead and off guard positions while his experience of having played in 94 games through the first three seasons of his career allows him to have the confidence of the coaching to staff to insert him into any situation in any arena against any team in the nation. Mims enters his senior season ranked fifth in school history with his career free throw shooting percentage of .788 as he has made 123 of 156 free throw attempts during his career.
Seminole guard Toney Douglas is featured on the cover of the 2007-08 NCAA College Basketball Preview issue by Athlon Sports. He graces the cover along with a headline reading “Tourney Talk In Tallahassee.”
According to the editors of the publication, the fourth-year junior is one of the cogs that keeps Florida State functioning at a high level. They continue to say that without a broken hand that kept him out of five late season games a year ago that the Seminoles appeared NCAA Tournament bound in 2006-07.
Douglas is an All-ACC candidate as one of the top guards in the conference who returns as the Seminoles’ front man from the lead guard position for the second consecutive season. He enjoyed one of the top scoring to assist seasons of any recent Seminole point guard as he ranked second on the team in scoring (12.7 ppg) and assists (2.7 apg) in running the Seminoles’ offense during the 2006-07 season for the first time. Douglas averaged 16.9 points and earned Freshman All-America Third-Team honors during the 2004-05 season.

Friday, November 9th, the Seminoles will take on Nicholls State at 7 p.m. for their first exhibition game. All fans in attendance will receive a Special Edition key tag and card set. Monday, November 12th, the Seminoles host the Eagles of Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. All fans in attendance will receive a Leonard Hamilton Schedule Magnet. Youth Day is Tuesday, November 20th at 7 p.m. against Georgia State. The ESPN Big Ten/ ACC Challenge is Tuesday, November 27th against the Golden Gophers of Minnesota at 7:30 p.m. The Hatters of Stetson will come to town Friday November 30th for a match-up with the Seminoles at 7 p.m. It’s also the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce Night.
The Seminoles will take on Samford, Sunday, December 2nd at 2 p.m. for their annual Toys for Tots Night. Anyone who brings a new, unwrapped toy will receive FREE admission to the game. Sunday December 8th, as the Seminoles host the Black Bears of Maine at 7 p.m. The holiday season comes early for season ticket holders on December 18th. Season ticket holders can pick up their complimentary gift on Tuesday’s game against the College of Charleston Cougars at 7 p.m. Should you not be able to attend the game, the gift can be picked up at the following home game against LaSalle.
The Men’s Basketball team will host their final out of conference opponent Saturday, January 5th game against LaSalle, presented by Governors Square Mall. The Seminoles begin their ACC run at home when the Duke Blue Devils come to town for one of the biggest games of the season, Wednesday, January 16th at 7 p.m. To guarantee your ticket for the Duke and/or UNC game, you need to purchase season tickets. The Seminoles will then take on the Cavaliers of Virginia, Wednesday, January 23rd at 7 p.m. The game is presented by Crocs, and the first 500 people in attendance will receive a FREE pair of FSU Crocs! It’s Faith & Family Day and Spear- It Day for the Saturday, January 26th match-up with the Wolfpack of NC State at 1:30 p.m.
In another big game for the Seminoles, they’ll take on the Tar Heels of North Carolina Sunday, Feb. 3rd at 2 p.m. To guarantee tickets to the UNC game, purchase season tickets today! Need some special plans for Valentines Day? Take your sweetheart to the February 14th game against Wake Forest at 9 p.m. The game is presented by United Healthcare. The Clemson Tigers come to Tallahassee on Tuesday, February 19th. This is also Upward Basketball Day and tips off at 7 p.m. The Seminoles take on the Eagles of Boston College, Tuesday, February 23rd at 7 p.m. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive FREE GEICO sweatbands.
Florida State’s last home game of the regular season is Saturday, March 8th at 12 p.m. against ACC rival Miami. It is also Senior Appreciation and Recognition Day. Be sure to attend the game to send off the four seniors of Florida State’s Men’s Basketball Team in their last regular season home game.
