Head Coach Bobby Bowden looks forward to Spring Practice
02/27/2004 – Football
Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden is hoping for a productive spring session in 2004, but a large number of off-season surgeries will probably mean that full scrimmage opportunities will be few and far between. The practices will be particularly important for the defensive side of the football as Mickey Andrews and his staff must replace seven starters from the 2003 team. Offensively, the Seminoles’ only starters lost were senior tailback Greg Jones and junior wide receiver P.K. Sam, who left early for the NFL draft.
Tim Pickett goes for a first-half shot against the defensive efforts of Duke’s Luol Deng, center, and Sean Dockery.
02/29/2004 – Men’s Basketball
Luol Deng scored 20 points and fifth-ranked Duke converted its last 12 free throws Sunday to beat Florida State 70-65 win and clinch at least a share of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s regular season title. Duke (24-3, 12-2 ACC) has a two-game lead over North Carolina State with two games remaining for each team.
