TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Redshirt senior Kylee Hanson and sophomore Cassidy Davis were two of the 12 student-athletes selected from District 4 as Google Cloud Academic All-District® First Team members, as announced by CoSIDA.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Softball Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Hanson has excelled in her only year at Florida State after graduating from Florida Atlantic last season. She was named 2018 ACC Pitcher of the Year and currently has a 25-4 record with a 1.06 ERA and 202 strikeouts. Pursuing a master’s degree in Public Health, Hanson currently has a GPA of 3.70 in graduate school and finished her undergrad with a GPA of 3.56.
Davis has a cumulative GPA of 3.51 as the sophomore pursues a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Biological Science. On the field, Davis has played in 40 games and ranks fourth on the team with six home runs. She has added 20 RBI, 12 runs scored and 13 walks on the season. As a relief pitcher, she has posted a 1.75 ERA over 28.0 innings and has limited opponents to a .212 batting average so far in 2018.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
