Tallahssee, FL — Florida State fans have responded in big numbers over the six days that FSU has been selling tickets for the Seminole’s December 27th Champs Sports Bowl game against Wisconsin. FSU fans have already gobbled up 8,500 of the schools allotment of 12,000 tickets and FSU Assitant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations Patrick Martin is encouraging Seminole fans to act soon to reserve their tickets.
“We’ve had an excellent response in a relatively short period of time,” said Martin. “Most of the traffic is coming through our website and we know that a lot of Seminole fans are buying tickets available through the Citrus Bowl Association’s site as well. We still have good seats available and I’m hoping all our fans will make their arrangements in time to sit in our section.”
FSU fans helped set attendance records at three of their last four bowl games. The Florida State vs. West Virginia Gator Bowl in 2005 drew 70,112; the 2006 Orange Bowl against Miami sold 77,773 tickets and the Emerald Bowl vs. UCLA sold out at 40,331.
The Champs Sports Bowl will be FSU’s first-ever meeting against Wisconsin and the first time the Seminoles have played in Orlando since a 1996 regular season neutral site game against Wake Forest.
In addition, FSU fans attending the Champs Sports Bowl have a place to gather for all their pregame fun. The official Florida State University Champs Sports Bowl Tailgate will take place on Saturday, December 27 from 12:00-4:30 and all the details can be found by clicking HERE.
