TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – For the second time in the outdoor season, the Florida State men’s and women’s track and field teams will be in action at Mike Long Track for the two-day Seminole Invite.

Starting Friday at 4 p.m., the event will last until Saturday in the early evening.

While several of FSU’s top performers will be competing in Austin, Texas at the 2011 84th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at the same time, student-athletes such as Maurice Mitchell, Charles Clark, Michael Putman, Kamorean Hayes, Marecia Pemberton and Teona Rodgers will be competing at home in Tallahassee.

Former FSU track superstar Walter Dix will also be in action as he will run in the 4x400m relay at 5:40 p.m.

In addition to all of the competition, FSU’s second home meet of the year will also provide a chance for the community and school to help support the Paint It Pink initiative. On April 9, the team will sport pink ribbons and t-shirts will be available on site on Saturday with a minimum $10 donation. All donations will benefit the Sharon Ewing Walker Breast Health Center and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Seminoles.com is your headquarters for all the action so stay tuned for a complete recap of the events.
