TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Florida State men’s basketball game against No. 4 ranked Duke Saturday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center is sold-out according to Ticket Manager Patrick Martin. The final tickets in the student ticket allotment were distributed early Friday morning giving the Seminoles their first sellout of the 2004-05 season.
The Seminoles enter Saturday’s game against the Blue Devils fresh from a dramatic 91-83 overtime victory over No. 3 ranked Wake Forest Tuesday night in Tallahassee. It marked the eighth nationally ranked team Florida State has defeated at home in the last four years. The Seminoles have defeated Duke twice in the last three seasons including a victory over the No.1 ranked Blue Devils on Jan. 6, 2002.
Florida State’s game against No. 4 marks the first time in school history the Seminoles will play host to a pair of top-five ranked teams in consecutive games and the sixth time they will play a pair of top-five ranked teams in consecutive games. Most recently, Florida State played No. 4 ranked Wake Forest (in Winston-Salem, Jan. 25, 1997) and No. 5 ranked Maryland (in Tallahassee, Jan. 29, 1997) during the 1996-97 conference season. The Seminoles’ victory over No. 3 ranked Wake Forest Tuesday marked the 33rd ranked team they have defeated since joining the ACC for the 1991-92 season.
Tickets are available for each of the Seminoles’ four remaining home games including match-ups against North Carolina (Feb. 6), Georgia Tech (Feb. 20), Miami (Feb. 22) and Virginia (March 6).
