TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The members of the Seminole men’s basketball team are very excited about Michael Jordan’s return to the NBA. Seminoles.com polled a couple of the Florida State men’s basketball players and here’s what they had to say.
What Are Your Thoughts On Michael Jordan Making A Return To The NBA?
“I think Michael Jordan’s return to the NBA is going to have a big impact on the league. I think we all want to see if he can be as good as he was before he retired. As great as he was in the past, we all want to know if he still has what it takes for him still to be the greatest player in history. I would like to see if he can play as well or if he can jump as high as he did when he was the league’s marquee player. I think his knowledge of the game is going to be above most other players and I still think he can shoot. But, my question would be on his athleticism and how quickly he can regain his speed.” — Mike Mathews
“It is going to be exciting to see where Michael Jordan’s game is now. He’s one of the greatest basketball players I have ever seen.” – Trevor Harvey
“I think Michael Jordan’s return to the league is going to be good for the NBA in a lot of ways. I think the television coverage is going to increase, the attendance is going to rise and his overall impact on basketball is going to be tremendous.” – Ryan Lowery
“Michael Jordan is a great player and it was great to see him leave the game on top [when he initially retired.] I don’t want to see him come back and not be at the top of his game. I think he is taking a big step coming back, and if he is able to accomplish his goals in coming back to the NBA, then he will prove that he is the best player ever, I think that is what he is trying to prove. He wants to go out and prove to himself that he can dominate the game of basketball. I hope the best for him and I hope that he continues to stay on top of the basketball world.” – Delvon Arrington
“I think Michael Jordan’s return to the NBA is great for the sport of basketball. Everything Michael touches turns to gold. I think ticket sales will go up, arenas will fill up and more people will be excited about the game of basketball. There doesn’t seem to be anything he can’t do on the basketball court. Every time you see clips of him he is making a great shot or winning another championship. I don’t want his coming back to tarnish his lasting image in any way.” – Antwuan Dixon
“Anytime you can watch Michael Jordan play basketball, you are witnessing a monumental event. His coming back is going to be nothing but good for the game of basketball. He is going to raise the bar fore every player in the league. He brings another element of competitiveness and excitement to the game. Everybody wants to see Michael play.” – Monte Cummings
Do You Think He Will Be As Great As He Was In His Prime?
“I think his knowledge of the game is going to be above most other players and I still think he can shoot. But my question would be on his athleticism and how quickly he can regain his speed.” – Mike Mathews
“It’s hard to say if he will be a great as he was during his prime. I think he will be pretty close to where he used to be for a number of reasons. He has an amazing work ethic, he knows how to get his body into shape and play to the best of his ability. That’s what makes him great.” – Trevor Harvey
“I think one of the challenges for him in returning is to see if he can be as good as he was in his prime. I feel the biggest challenge he faces is trying to regain his awesome athletic form in order to play at such an incredibly high level.” – Ryan Lowery
“Yes, I do think he will be as great as he was before he retired. He was great athletically when he first came in to the league. He grew as a player and was great athletically and mentally as he career progressed. I think he is going to come back great mentally now and that will help him be successful this time around. The mental part can overcome the athletic ability and that is going to allow him to come back as a great player.” – Delvon Arrington
“That’s a hard question to answer before we are able to see him on the court and against NBA competition. I hope that he can perform as athletically as he has and I hope that he does not become prone to injuries. We all know that he will have the same work ethic and that will keep him strong and healthy. I hope that he will play like the Michael we all know.” – Antwuan Dixon
“I hope that he is able to jump as high and shoot as well because that is the Michael Jordan we all know and love. He’s Michael so he will be able to do a lot more than people think.” – Monte Cummings
Is He The Greatest Basketball Player Who Has Ever Played The Game?
“Michael Jordan is the greatest player who ever lived, no doubt. Everyone wants to be like Michael Jordan. When you think about basketball, you think about Michael Jordan. He is the symbol of basketball. He set such a high standard, achieved so many goals and proved that he is the greatest player who ever played the game.” – Mike Mathews
I would say Michael Jordan is the greatest player of my time. I have heard arguments about people I never saw play being better than Michael. I don’t have a firm answer to that question.” — Trevor Harvey
“Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player who has ever played the game. He is the greatest player without a doubt, no question.” – Ryan Lowery
“Yes. Michael Jordan is the great player who has ever played the game of basketball. My favorite player growing up was Magic Johnson, but we all know that Michael is the best player ever. Whatever you wanted him to do on the court he delivered. He and Tiger Woods are very similar – both athletes never let you down as a fan. Tiger and Michael, as two athletes who always step up and deliver when the game is on the line. Those two athletes continually show their leadership abilities and that’s among the qualities that make them great.” – Delvon Arrington
“In my mind, he is definitely the greatest basketball player who has ever lived. He has accomplished just about everything you can in the sport of basketball. He was won championships, scoring titles, been named MVP, been named MVP of the All-Star game, won Olympic Gold – you name it, he has won it.” – Antwuan Dixon
“Michael is a great player but to be able to answer the question of whether or not he is the best to ever play the game is tough. With players like Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal doing the things they are doing during the early stages of their careers, it’s tough to answer that question. The game of basketball is an ever evolving one and Michael Jordan is one of the greatest player that ever played.” – Monte Cummings
Will You Watch More NBA Games or More NBA Games That Michael Jordan Plays In?
“I will watch more of his games because I want to see if he still has what it takes to be Michael Jordan. I want to see if he can still make as big of an impact on the game as he did before he retired.” – Mike Mathews
“I will definitely watch more NBA basketball when Michael Jordan returns to the NBA. He brings a spark when he plays. I am looking forward to watching him play against the stars of today – that’s what I’m really interested in seeing. I will watch more games on the whole with an effort to see more of his games with the Wizards.” – Trevor Harvey
“Yes I will watch more games that Michael Jordan plays in because he is the best basketball player ever. I feel that by watching and studying him I can learn more about playing the game of basketball and improving my overall game.” – Ryan Lowery
“I always watch games always and it doesn’t matter who is playing. To me, basketball to me is basketball. One player is not going to make me watch or the absence of one player is going to make me not watch a game. A real basketball player watches basketball whenever and wherever he can. Michael coming back is going to help the NBA and I think it is going to be great for the fans.” – Delvon Arrington
“I will definitely watch more games that Michael plays in – probably more than just any NBA games. I am anxious to see Michael Jordan play. I love watching him play and I am looking forward to watching him play again.” – Antwuan Dixon
“Everybody wants to see Michael play. He is going to make it fun to watch the Wizards but I love basketball so I am going to watch any game that comes on.” – Monte Cummings
