TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The 2002-03 Florida State University men’s basketball season tips-off Sunday as the Seminoles play their first of two preseason games and hosts its annual fan day festivities at the Leon County Civic Center. Both events – the fan day (which begins at 2 p.m.) and the preseason game (which begins at 4 p.m.) are open to the public and are free of charge.
The fan event festivities will include inflatable and interactive games, which will be set up at 2 p.m. outside the patio/plaza area near the main entrance and box office at the Civic Center. Fans are welcome to enjoy seven inflatable games and have their picture taken in an authentic Florida State men’s basketball uniform. Fans will also have a chance to win several basketball items and promotional NCAA basketball T-shirts which will be distributed free of charge. Fans can also receive various promotional items and materials including rosters, schedule posters, magnets and sports calendars.
In addition, the Florida State cheerleaders and Golden Girl dancers will be applying tattoos to fans of all ages and will be interacting with fans.
WTLH/FOX 49 will hold a promotional event at halftime of the preseason game which will be of great interest to all fans in attendance. The entire Seminoles team, including first-year head coach Leonard Hamilton, will then host an autograph session after the game.
Following Sunday’s preseason game, Florida State will play host to the EA Sports All-Stars in its second preseason game Nov. 17 and open its regular season at home against Savannah State Nov. 24. The Seminoles will play their first eight games of the regular season at home including games against Iowa (Dec. 2), Florida (Dec. 6) and Miami (Dec. 8).
