Seminole Men’s Golf Team Sets Sights On Improvement After Solid Fall Season

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Florida State men’s golf team finished its fall season with its sights set on improving as a team and working its way into postseason play during the upcoming spring season. The Seminoles earned their best finish of tied for fourth at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate as they competed against the best teams in the nation and among the best teams in collegiate golf during the fall season. Florida State’s schedule was ranked as the nation’s 15th toughest during the fall season. The Seminoles open their spring season at the Gator Intercollegiate Feb. 5-6.

RUCH PRODUCTIVE FOR SEMINOLES IN FIVE FALL EVENTS
Sophomore Bradley Ruch (Louisville, Ky.) enjoyed a very productive season during the fall. He shot a season best 69 in the first round of the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate – a score which tied him with Matt Adcock for the lowest score of the season. He was the only Seminole to play in all five events during the fall season and averaged a very consistent 75.47 average score in 15 rounds. He was the highest finishing Seminole at the Carpet Capital Collegiate which was played at The Farm Golf Club at Rocky Face, Georgia.

BLIXT ENJOYS FINE INAUGURAL SEASON
Freshman Jonas Blixt (Nassjo, Sweden) enjoyed an outstanding inauguralcollegiate season and led the Seminoles in nearly every statistical category. He led the Seminoles in most rounds under par (five), most rounds under 75 (eight) and had the best average round score with a 74.33 for 12 rounds in four tournaments. Blixt finished second on the team in tournaments played (four), most rounds played (12) and second lowest single round score with an outstanding 70 in the second round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. He finished as the leading Seminole in a tournament twice: at Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Ridges and the Gary Koch/Cleveland Golf Intercollegiate.

ADCOCK CONTINUES TO EARN THE TITLE OF TEAM CAPTAIN
Senior tam captain Matt Adcock (Apopka, Fla.) played in four tournaments during the fall season and shot eight rounds under 75 to tie him with freshman Jonas Blixt for the team lead. He shot a final round of 69 at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate where he finished in a tie for ninth in the individual standings. Adcock finished tied for ninth in the individual standings with senior Rusty Mosley at the Mason Rudolph to mark the highest individual finishes for the Seminoles during the fall season.

MOSLEY CONTINUES TO PLAY SOLID GOLF FOR SEMINOLES
Senior Rusty Mosley (Vidalia, Ga.) shot under par on two separate occasions and shot under 75 five different times during the fall season as he continued to play well for the Seminoles. His low score for the season was an outstanding 70 which he carded in both the first and second round of the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate. Mosley led the Seminoles in the individual standings at the Inaugural Isleworth Collegiate Invitational. His best finish of the season was a ninth place tie in the individual standings at the Mason Rudolph.

JOEN PLAYS WELL AS A FRESHMAN
Freshman Song Jeon (Seoul, Korea) played in two tournaments during the fall season and was the second highest finishing Seminole at the Carpet Capital Collegiate. He shot six rounds of golf with two coming in under 75. Jong’s average for the two tournaments was a 77.83.
