Seminole Soccer Cut Down By Wake Forest, 2-1

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Florida State soccer team fell to Wake
Forest this afternoon 2-1 at the Spry Soccer Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The Demon Deacons improve to 6-1 as the Seminoles drop to 4-4.

Wake Forest scored both of their goals in the first half. Stacy
Roeck scored first for the Demon Deacons off an assist from Juline Charlton
and Sarah Kate Noftsinger in the 5th minute with Racheal Lewis adding the
second in the 33rd minute. FSU kept Wake Forest scoreless in the second
half. Freshman Amanda Green scored FSU’s lone goal in the 52nd minute
off a cross from freshman Katie Talley off the far post. Senior goalkeeper
Jamie Gurtov tallied five saves, giving up both goals as junior keeper
Sarah Crawford nabbed six saves and gave up no goals.

Florida State returns to action next weekend with a road trip to
South Carolina. The Seminoles will take on the Clemson Tigers in Clemson,
S.C., on Friday, September 24 at 7pm.
