TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State softball will kick-off Spring Weekend with an ACC doubleheader against Georgia Tech beginning at noon on Saturday, April 12, at the Seminole Softball Complex. The Seminoles return home after a five-game road series in Maryland and Orlando, Fla.
Florida State enters the weekend with a 31-17 overall record and is currently third in the ACC with a 7-5 conference record. The Yellow Jackets are 19-26 and are sitting at the bottom of the ACC with their 2-9 conference record. The Seminoles lead the overall series with Tech 40-14 despite dropping three out of four meetings last season.
Game one of the three-game series will be the first home televised game on Sun Sports for FSU with first pitch set for 12:05 p.m. Also happening on Saturday is `Cram the Complex’ and all fans are encouraged to show their support for Seminole Softball and try to break the previous attendance record of 618 that was set in 2003. The first 250 fans to enter the Seminole Softball Complex will receive a free FSU softball pennant.
Also on Saturday, Seminole ISP Sports Network will be hosting Easton Youth Day and will be giving out a limited quantity of FSU Softball t-shirts to fans. The fun will continue on Sunday as the first 100 fans will receive an FSU souvenir cup they can fill at the concession stand for only one dollar. Following the final game against Georgia Tech, the Seminole softball team will host a youth skills clinic and autograph session on the field for the younger fans.
After the doubleheader on Saturday, be sure to stick around for the Garnet and Gold Scrimmage at Doak Campbell Stadium at 7:00 p.m. that will feature a post-game fireworks display.
