July 18, 2007

Tallahassee, FL –
Florida State Football fans will be treated to a new event this year at ABC 27’s Fan Day as Seminole Superstars Strength & Skills Competition is added to the festivities. For the first time FSU football players will take part in a strength and skill exhibition open to the public.

The free exhibition will take place inside the Donald L. Tucker Center August 12th. Doors will open at 12:00 p.m. with the weight lifting and skills competitions set to begin at 1:00 p.m. Fans will be invited to watch Florida State football players compete in the bench press, power clean and vertical jump. There will also be a skills competition featuring the FSU quarterbacks.

“This will be a great opportunity for Florida State football fans to see just how hard our players have worked in the off season,” said strength and conditioning coach for football Todd Stroud. “If fans want to see what it looks like to bench press 450 pounds or power clean 350 pounds, this will be a great opportunity. It is not everyday fans get to see this.”

After the competition fans are welcome to stay for autographs with the entire team and coaching staff. ABC 27 Fan Day begins at 2:30 pm and will conclude around 4:30 pm. All these events are free to the public.
