Seminole Track & Field Win Two Relay Events At FSU Relays

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Florida State track and field team picked up three wins on Friday at the third day of competition of the Florida State Relays at Mike Long Track. The women’s 4×200-meter relay and men’s 4x400m relay teams won the gold championships, and Amanda Kinney won the women’s garnet section shot put.


The Lady Seminoles’ 4×200 relay team of Teresa Bundy, Nakeya Crutchfield, Tamara Campbell and Shauna Quinn won with at time 1:36.46. The men’s 4×400 squad of Michael Jennings, Sean Campbell, David Johnson and Cecrick Robinson took first place at 3:08.53, only a second off of the NCAA provisional mark.


Kinney won the shot put with a toss of 14.45 meters. She later placed sixth in the discus throw at 42.38m.


Other notable finishes for the Lady Seminoles include Crutchfield in the 100m dash gold championship (second, 11.73), Kim Jones in the 100m hurdles gold championship (second, 13.82), Emily Wehr in the gold steeplechase (third, 11:37.00), Stacey Taylor in the high jump gold championship (second, 1.69m), Megan Robbins in the gold pole vault (second, 3.75m), Lacy Janson in the pole vault (third, 3.60m) and Karen Rademeyer in the gold javelin throw (third, 42.88m).


Top finishes for the men include Craphonso Thorpe in the gold 100m dash (second, 10.55), Tommy Kunish in the gold 10,000m run (third, 30:51.16), Zach Heissner in the gold steeplechase (third, 9:24.35), Kolby Jones in the gold 200m dash (second, 21.75), Anesu Mushonga in the 200m (third, 21.81) and Joe Pavia in the garnet 400m hurdles (second, 53.79).


The final day of events for the FSU Relays will begin tomorrow with the men’s long jump at 10 a.m., and the track events start at noon with the women’s 100m hurdles.
