GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three members of the Florida State volleyball program were named to the All-ACC Academic Team that was announced by the league on Monday.
Representing the Seminoles were sophomore Milica Kubura, junior Hailey Luke and senior Nicole Walch.
Kubura, who was selected to the team for the second time in as many years, holds a 3.87 GPA in actuarial science. This marks her third national academic recognition of the season along with the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV and AVCA All-East Region selections. On campus she was named to the Dean’s List and as a Golden Torch honoree.
Luke, also a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV team, earned the first All-ACC Academic honor after posting a 3.4 GPA for the semester in sports management.
Walch, who graduated from Florida State in December with a degree in sports management, posted a career 3.507 GPA. She was one of 17 players, along with Kubura, who was named both All-ACC Academic and All-ACC this season.
“I’m excited for Milica, Hailey and Nicole and it is such a great accomplishment,” said head coach Chris Poole. “Student athletes have a lot of demand on their time and this award speaks to the discipline and effort of a student-athlete to be able to combine high level sports with a high GPA in academics. I continue to be proud of my team and the effort they all show on and off the court.”
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
