Seminole Volleyball Opens First Full Week Of Training Camp

Aug. 12, 2003

Tallahassee, Fla. – Head Coach Todd Kress, his staff and the 2003 Seminole volleyball team are entering their first full week of training camp. Florida State is looking to make the NCAA tournament in consecutive years for the first time since the 1997 and 1998 teams were able to make return trips to the postseason. Kress took the Seminoles to the NCAA tournament in 2002, his first year as head coach of the Seminoles.

Florida State returns three starters and five other letterwinners from last year’s team that went 21-13 with a trip to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1998. The Seminoles also added eight newcomers who will make an immediate impact on a program on the rise.

FSU will kick off the 2003 season at home in the FSU Invitational on Friday, August 29th. The Seminoles will take on Florida Atlantic in their first match of the day at 12:30 p.m. and will face Kansas State at 7:30 p.m. that same evening.
