The Seminole volleyball team returns home for the FSU Classic after being on the road for the last two weeks in Texas and California. Florida State hosts Eastern Kentucky (7-3), Jacksonville (1-6) and Miami (7-3) this weekend, September 19-20, in the FSU Classic. Florida State went 1-2 last weekend at the UC Irvine Sunset Classic. The Seminoles defeated Houston 3-1, but fell to both UC Irvine and St. Mary’s in five games 2-3. Prior to the loss 2-3 to UC Irvine in the weekend’s final match, the Seminoles had not lost a match after winning game one of a match all season. FSU had also never lost a game in 2003 when being the first team to 24 poinnts in the game until game three of that same match. Senior setter Jennifer Anderson already has 231 assists (7.70 apg) on the season and is just 559 assists away from becoming FSU’s all-time leader in career assists.

Eastern Kentucky (7-3)
Florida State trails the all-time series with the Colonels 3-4. The last
time these two schools met was in 1988 in Lexington, KY at the Kentucky Wildcat Classic. The Seminoles defeated Eastern Kentucky 3-0 (15-9, 15-13, 15-4).
FSU has never lost to Jacksonville University, leading the all-time series 27-0. In 2002, the Seminoles and Dolphins met in the fourth match of the season in Tallahassee with FSU winning 3-0 (30-21, 30-19, 30-23).
The Seminoles lead the all-time series with the Hurricanes 12-9. The two in-state rivals met in 2002 with Miami taking the match 3-2 (30-28, 30-25, 29-31, 30-32, 10-15) in Miami.
