Tallahassee, Fla. – The Florida State volleyball team hit the court for a preseason scrimmage on Wednesday, August 22, in Tully Gym. Playing four games, the Garnet team beat the Gold 4-0 scoring a total of 106 points.

Seniors Makini Thompson and Summer Weissing led the Garnet team along with junior Mira Djuric, sophomores Jackie BonSalle and Jordana Price and freshmen Jenna Romanelli and Lauren Rosenthal.

Djuric’s 21 kills topped both teams and scored 24 points throughout the four games while Weissing had a team-leading 23 digs while playing in the libero position.

The Gold team had veteran sophomores Nikki Baker, Malorie Wessel, and Lauren Young along with newcomers Lauren Richardson, Taylor Wilson, and Stephanie Neville.

Leading the Gold in kills was sophomore Brianna Barry with 10, scoring 12.5 points.

The first home match of the regular season will be Saturday, August 25, when the Seminoles take on UNC-Asheville in the FSU Invitational at 10:00a.m.
