Florida State will put it’s nine-game home winning streak on the line Wednesday, October 16th, when the Seminoles host local rival Florida A&M, at 7:00 p.m. in the friendly confines of Tully Gymnasium. The Tribe leads the all-time series with a record of 18-0 against the Rattlerettes. Florida State enters the midweek match with a record of 12-6, while Florida A&M has a 10-3 mark on the season.

Last season, the Seminoles handed Florida A&M its first loss of the season as they defeated the Rattlerettes by a score of 3-1 (30-19, 31-33, 30-19, 32-30). Kristin Frye led Florida State past Florida A&M as she had nine kills, eight digs, two service aces and hit .444 for the Tribe. Norisha Campbell, Alex Sevillano and Erica Bunch each recorded double-digit kills against the Rattlerettes in the early October match. Bunch also led the team in digs with 16.

Senior opposite Frye leads the 2002 Seminoles against the Rattlerettes Wednesday night, as she has recorded a team-high 264 kills on the season. Sevillano, with 226 kills and a team-high 37 service aces, has been a standout for the Florida State squad and will look to continue her success against Florida A&M. The Tribe will look to junior setter Jennifer Anderson to run the offense to perfection. Thus far this season, Anderson has 929 assists to lead her team.

The Rattlerettes are led by freshman outside hitter Adriana Kostadinova, who has tallied 13 service aces, 88 digs and a team-high 157 kills this season. Senior Fiorella Aita Junek is a force for Florida A&M in 2002 as she has recorded 155 kills and a team-high 14 service aces. Junior setter Delisha Peterson leads the Rattlerettes in assists with 291, but is followed closely by Mariela Portocarrero with 281.

Following the midweek match with Florida A&M, the Seminoles will travel to Duke and Wake Forest for an ACC weekend roadtrip. Florida State will take on the Blue Devils Friday, October 19th, at 5:00 p.m. at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C. The Tribe will then travel to Winston Salem, N.C. Saturday, October 20th, to face the Demon Deacons. The match against Wake Forest is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Reynolds Gym.
