Seminole Women’s Golf Team In Seventh At Landfall Tradition.

WILMINGTON, N.C. –
The Florida State women’s golf team moved into seventh place in the team standings and senior Alison Curdt is in 14th place in the individual standings after two rounds of the Landfall Tradition on the Jack Nicklaus Course at the Country Club of Landfall. The Seminoles improved their team score by eight strokes in the second round as compared to the first round and moved up from ninth place into seventh with their improved play over the second round of 18 holes.


Amanda McCurdy of Arkansas shot a three-under par score of 69 in the second round and is the leader with a 141 two-day total heading into the third round. New Mexico continued to lead the team standings and enters Sunday’s third and final round with a slim, one-stroke lead over second-place Tulane. Florida State is in seventh place with a 36-hole total of 616.


Curdt (St. Louis, Mo.) shot a six-over par 78 in the second round after carding a one-over par 73 in the first round. She has a two day-total of 151 and is only five stokes out of fifth place entering play in the final round. Curdt has claimed two top 15 finishes in the first three tournaments of the spring for the Seminoles. She finished in fourth place at the University of Alabama Tournament in 11th place at the New Mexico Tournament.


Senior Katie Quinney (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Caroline Larsson (Danderyd, Sweden) carded identical scores of 74 in the second round. Quinney rebounded from a first round 80 and is in 28th place while Larsson rebounded from a first round 81 and enters the third round in a tie for 29th place.


Freshman Jaclyn Burch (Wildwood, Mo.) has a two-day total of 157 and is in a tie for 39th place in the individual standings. Burch, a freshman, has finished in the top 40 of each of her first three collegiate tournaments. Senior Carrie Sordel (Windermere, Fla.) improved her individual score by three strokes and is in a tie for 44th place entering the final round of play.


Florida State is chasing its fourth top-10 team finish in four tournaments this fall in this weekend’s Landfall Tradition. It is the last tournament of the fall for the Seminoles. Final round play begins at 8:30 Sunday morning.
