Seminole Women’s Golf team Moves Into Fourth At NCAA East Regional Championship

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. –
The Florida State women’s golf is in fourth place after two rounds of the NCAA East Regional Championship at Bryan Park Golf Club. The Seminoles moved from 10th place after the first round and into contention for a birth in the NCAA Championship May 23-26 at The Ohio State University with their performance in the second round. Florida State is looking to finish the regional in one of the top eight positions in the team standings entering Saturday’s third and final round in order to advance to the championship finals. The Seminoles are 12 strokes behind team-standings leading Louisiana State and six strokes ahead of eighth-placed North Carolina.

Freshman Caroline Westrup, who is tied for seventh in the individual standings with a one-under par total of 143, leads the Seminoles. She carded a 71 in the first round and a 72 in the second round. Sophomore Whitney Brummett led Florida State with a two-under par 70 and is tied for 17th with a two-day total of 146.
