Seminole Women’s Golf Team Moves Into Fourth Place At Hatter Fall Classic

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. –
Junior Kristin Tamulis leads a trio of Seminoles in the top 15 in the individual standings and the Florida State women’s golf team is in fourth place in the team standings at the Hatter Fall Classic at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort. Tamulis enjoyed the best day of the five Seminole players as she carded a four-over par 76. The Seminoles, who shot a 310, improved one position in the team standings and will begin third round play only seven strokes behind Michigan, the current team leader.


Tamulis, who is looking for her second top ten finish of the fall season, played well in today’s second round. Her score of 76 was the sixth best round of the 95 golfers playing in the event. Tamulis is a native of Naples, Fla..


Sophomore Katie Quinney (Jacksonville, Fla.) also continued her strong play during her this career tournament as a Seminole. She begins third round play in a tie for seventh place with a score of 155. Quinney shot a seven-over par 79 in the second round.


Sophomore Carrie Sordel (Windermere, Fla.) shot a near career-low 74 in today’s second round. It marked the second time she shot a 74. Sordel’s career best of one-over par 73 came during the 2001 Lady Gator Invitational.


The tournament concludes Sunday with an 18-hole shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
