NEGRON LEADS SEMINOLES AT LADY GATOR INVITATIONAL
Senior Jessica Negron finished in a tie for ninth place in the individual standings at last week’s Lady Gator Invitational – her career high third top 10 finish this season and the ninth top 10 finish of her career. She has also finished in the top 10 of the Mercedes Benz Collegiate (tied for seventh) and the Florida State Match-Up (tied for third) this year. Negron’s finish at the top of the Seminoles’ leaderboard marked the seventh time (and third time during her senior season) that she has been the Seminoles’ individual leader in an event during her career.
RAMSAY IN SEMINOLES’ LINE-UP FOR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE TOURNAMENT
Senior Mary Beth Ramsay will play as a member of the Seminoles’ line-up at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic marking the fourth consecutive event this spring she has earned her way into the line-up. She finished in a career best tied for eighth place at the Inaugural Florida Challenge to open the spring and has earned three top 50 finishes in the three events she has played in this spring. Ramsay has already played in more events this year as a senior (four) than she did as a junior last season (three) and will play in her career high tying fifth event of the season at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic. She also played in five events as a freshman (2009-10). She has already set career bests for a single round (72 in the first round of the spring 2013 Florida Challenge) and earned her best career finish (tied for eighth at the spring 2013 Florida Challenge).
HULLERT IS A FIXTURE IN THE SEMINOLES’ LINE-UP
Freshman Olivia Hullert is the Seminoles’ only newcomer to play in each of the first six events of the year – and is in the line-up to play this weekend at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic. She earned her first career top 10 finish (tied for fifth) at the Florida Challenge in January and has finished as Florida State’s individual leader at the fall 2012 Landfall Tradition and at the Florida Challenge. Hullert’s top single round score of 71 came in the third round of the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Classic and allowed her to earn her career best tournament score of 222 for the three round event.
CASTELAIN TO PLAY IN 15TH CONSECUTIVE EVENT
Sophomore Laure Castelain will play in her 15th consecutive career event at the LSU Golf Tiger Classic this weekend. She has missed playing in only one event since her arrival in Tallahassee – the Mo Morial Tournament at Texas A&M during the fall of 2011. That event was the first tournament on the Seminoles’ fall 2011 schedule. Castelain has played in each of Florida State’s 15 events since and has earned two career top 10 finishes (the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic during the fall of 2011, tied for third and the Bryan National Collegiate during the spring of 2012, tied for ninth). In addition, she has finished as the Seminoles’ leader in three events during her young career – the fall 2011 Susie Maxwell Berning, the spring 2012 Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic and the Fall 2012 GolfWeek Challenge.
